From a small family-run business to a structured group serving Large Retailers, Ho.Re.Ca., wholesale, and ethnic cuisine, our history is a perfect blend of entrepreneurial vision, passion for the product, and attention to detail. Today, we are a benchmark in the cold chain sector in Italy and a reliable partner for over 2,000 active clients.
Comavicola è un’azienda di prodotti ittici surgelati fondata a Milano nel 1956 dalla famiglia Villa. Da una piccola attività a conduzione familiare a un gruppo strutturato che serve la Grande Distribuzione, l’Ho.Re.Ca., l’ingrosso e la ristorazione etnica, la nostra storia è una sintesi perfetta di visione imprenditoriale, passione per il prodotto e attenzione ai dettagli. A story that begins
from the Lombroso market

Tutto ha inizio nel 1956, quando Angelo Giuseppe Villa inizia a commerciare pollame, conigli e uova nel mercato Lombroso di Milano. Da lì, passo dopo passo, costruisce una rete di relazioni e competenze che porteranno Comavicola a specializzarsi nella selezione, importazione e distribuzione di prodotti ittici surgelati provenienti da tutto il mondo.

Negli anni ’80 l’intuizione: orientarsi sempre di più verso il mercato del pesce congelato. È l’inizio della trasformazione. Nel tempo, l’azienda ha diversificato la propria offerta per servire mercati differenti, sempre mantenendo una filiera corta, controllata e tecnologicamente avanzata.

It all began in 1956, when Angelo Giuseppe Villa started trading poultry, rabbits, and eggs at the Lombroso market in Milan. From there, step by step, he built a network of relationships and expertise that would lead Comavicola to specialize in the selection, import, and distribution frozen seafood products from all over the world.

The governance of Comavicola has remained family-owned, but it has evolved over time with the addition of new managerial figures and a shift towards a more horizontal leadership. The Villa brothers are now at the helm of the company, maintaining the family identity while embracing an international vision.

All lines are equipped with state-of-the-art technologies: metal detectors, X-rays, automatic packaging machines, multi-head weighers.

Showcooking and professional kitchen

Inside our HQ, we have created a kitchen dedicated to culinary experimentation.

Chefs, clients, and partners can test new products, create recipes, and take part in showcooking sessions and private events. A versatile, high-tech space designed to bring the sea to the table in an authentic way.
